My path in Chinese medicine was born out of my yoga practice and studies and my passion and belief in the innate potential for change and healing we each possess.
This path led me to begin Chinese medicine studies at the Shenzou University in Amsterdam, later completing my Acupuncture diploma Cum Laude at the Dutch Acupuncture Academy. I have also completed an extensive course in Western medicine for acupuncturists as well as attended auricular acupuncture modules and other post-graduate programs, like Chinese paediatric Tuina (massage) and Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture (YSNA). I am also a Reiki practitioner..
I am a member of Zhong, the Dutch association for traditional Chinese medicine.
About 15 years ago, following a career in music and the performing arts and after the birth of my children and a prolonged illness, I decided to deepen my studies of Yoga, which I had been practicing since my teens, completing various teacher training programmes with a total of over 500 hours, including Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pranayama, Myo-Yin and fascia self-massage techniques (The RollModel Method), meridian Yoga and Chakra meditation, as well in the new form of Yin Yoga, Acu-Yin.
I have practiced Stott Pilates for many years, attended trainings and workshops in Alexander technique, fascia, core fitness and Anatomy Trains posture analysis, as well as completed courses with Peter A. Levine (the founder of Somatic Experiencing) and Chris Walling (clinical psychologist, working with Steven Porges at the University of Indiana).
I have worked as a volunteer for the past three editions of the Dutch TCM congresses (DTCMC), and I volunteer as an acupuncturist for Acupuncturists Without Borders, an organisation providing free acupuncture treatments to refugees and displaces persons.
I speak fluent English, Dutch, Hebrew and Spanish.
