My path in Chinese medicine was born out of my yoga practice and studies, and my passion and belief in the innate potential for change and healing we each possess.
This path led me to begin my foundational Chinese medicine studies at the Shenzhou University in Amsterdam (graduating Summa Cum Laude), later completing my Acupuncture diploma (Cum Laude) at the Dutch Acupuncture Academy. I also completed an extensive, in-person Western medical training for acupuncturists, as required by professional associations in The Netherlands (graduating Summa Cum Laude).
In 2025 I attended a three-week apprenticeship program at the acupuncture department of the Tongde Hospital in Hangzhou, China. I was able to observe and study within a major clinical setting of Traditional Chinese Medicine, witnessing treatments in a hospital setting, and the way senior doctors work with great experience and combine different modalities of TCM. During my time in China I also studied medical Qigong with Master Zi Qin Cai Zhaowu, a 16th generation disciple of the Wudang Sanfeng school.
Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture (YSNA) is one of the core modalities in my clinical work. I have completed both foundational and advanced YSNA trainings, and work with this system in depth on a daily basis.
A central focus of my practice is mental and emotional health, and the ways in which psychological patterns, attachment, and nervous system regulation are reflected in the body. This perspective has been deeply shaped by my studies with Peter A. Levine (Somatic Experiencing) and Chris Walling, as well as by my background as a senior yoga teacher and many years of developing and studying body–mind practices. My Yin Yoga studies with Paul Grilley, Jo Phee, and Anat Geiger have been particularly formative in this respect, as through my yoga teachers I came to a deeper understanding of perseverance in one’s personal journey, and how central compassion must be in our lives and in the way we relate to ourselves and others, both in daily life and in therapeutic work.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer as an acupuncturist for Acupuncturists Without Borders, an organisation providing trauma-informed acupuncture care to refugees and displaced persons.
About 15 years ago, following a career in music and the performing arts and after the birth of my children and a prolonged illness, I decided to deepen my studies of Yoga, which I had been practicing since my teens, completing various teacher training programmes with a total of over 500 hours, including Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pranayama, Myo-Yin and myofascial release (The RollModel Method), meridian Yoga and Chakra meditation, as well as the newer form of Yin Yoga, Acu-Yin.
I have practiced rehabilitation focused Stott Pilates for many years, and attended trainings and workshops in Alexander Technique, core fitness, and Anatomy Trains posture analysis.
I am a Reiki Level II practitioner and occasionally incorporate Reiki in an intuitive way within treatments.
I have worked as a volunteer for the past four editions of the Dutch TCM congresses (DTCMC), and I am a member of Zhong, the largest Dutch association for Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I speak fluent English, Dutch, Hebrew and Spanish.
